All right friends, it’s myth-slaying time.

Let’s talk about something that’s been floating around the cruise world for way too long—this idea that cruising solo as a woman is dangerous, lonely, or just plain weird.

But, let me be the one to tell you—it’s not only safe, but it can be one of the most freeing, empowering, and luxurious experiences you’ll ever have.

I’ve sailed solo. I’ve helped dozens of my clients do it too. And let me tell you, the myths that are out there? Whew, they’re bold and loud. But just because something’s loud doesn’t make it true.

I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship.
— Louisa May Alcott

So sis, let’s get into this real talk about solo cruising. Time to bust these myths wide open and help you step into your soft life era—on your own terms.

Solo Cruising Myth #1: “It’s not safe for women to cruise alone.”

Now this right here? This is the one I hear all the time. And it grinds my gears.

Yes, safety is always a concern when we’re out here living our best lives. But cruising solo doesn’t mean you’re walking into danger. In fact, cruise ships are some of the most secure travel spaces out there.

There’s 24/7 security, cameras everywhere, and access to help no matter where you are onboard. When I cruise solo, I feel even safer than I do walking around some cities at home.

Why do folks still believe this? Because we’ve been conditioned to believe that a woman out here doing things on her own is automatically vulnerable. But we’re not fragile—we’re fearless.

The truth:
You can cruise solo safely. Like anything else, it takes common sense. You don’t leave your drink unattended. You don’t invite randoms into your cabin. But, you absolutely can cruise safely and luxuriously—by yourself.

Solo Cruising Myth #2: “You’ll be lonely the whole time.”

Let’s be real… do I look like I’d be bored on a floating five-star hotel with a spa, cocktail bars, shows, and sexy ocean views? I don’t think so.

When people hear “solo cruise,” they imagine someone sitting alone at dinner every night with sad music playing in the background. Lies and fairy tales.

Cruising solo is the perfect mix of “me time” and “new people energy.” You can join group excursions, attend onboard events, or hang out at the bar and meet people from all over the world.

Why do people still believe this? Because they’re used to the idea that vacation has to mean couples or groups. But that’s old news. Solo travel—especially solo cruising—is all about choosing you.

The truth:
You might come on the ship alone… but you won’t leave without memories, connections, and a whole lot of main character energy.

Solo Cruising Myth #3: “Cruising alone is too expensive.”

Ooh, I get it. When you see that “double occupancy” rate, you start thinking, “Welp, guess it’s couples-only on this ship.”

But nah, don’t let that price tag fool you.
More cruise lines are creating solo cabins and dropping that solo supplement, which used to mean you were paying double just to vibe alone.

Virgin Voyages, Norwegian, even some luxury lines like Silversea—they’re getting hip. They know solo travelers are out here with the coins and the confidence.

Why do people still believe this? Because for a long time, cruise lines did make it harder (and pricier) for solo travelers. But that tide is turning.

The truth:
You can absolutely cruise solo without breaking the bank. You just gotta know where to look—and that’s where I come in. 👏🏾

So… why is it so dangerous to believe these myths?

Because these lies keep you from booking that trip you’ve been dreaming about.
They keep you thinking you need someone else’s permission or presence to live fully.
They stop you from stepping into your joy.

And I know you’ve got what it takes to travel boldly, love deeply (yourself included), and collect memories like seashells.

But you’ve gotta have the right mindset—and the right travel advisor in your corner. Otherwise, you’ll keep putting off that bucket-list moment… waiting for “someday.”

Don’t wait, boo. Book the cabin. Sip the cocktail. Watch the sunset from your balcony in a plush robe with nobody asking you for a thing.

I’ve helped so many women take their first solo cruise, and baby, they thrived. They didn’t have any special powers. They just said yes to themselves.
