Originally opened in 1924, the Hotel Clermont has undergone a recent renovation transforming many of its spaces to cool and interesting hangout spots. Hang out in the newly renovated Rooftop that features a food cart and fabulous views or eat dinner at one of the Top 25 restaurants in the city, Tiny Lou's.

Special occasions celebrators, romantic weekenders, limelight-shunning VIPs, and families with teens who want Instagrammable photos can all be found in the lobby or the library.

How fluid was check in and check out?

Checking in is smooth sailing, from the welcome glass of bubbles to the efficient service.

Enjoy city view from the 94 accommodations, which range from standard guest rooms to cool bunk-bed rooms. There are also two multi-room suites. The beds are really comfy with premium linens. And the entire hotel has cool retro furnishings that look like you walked onto the set of Mad Men. The rooms are equipped with La Bottega toiletries, Bluetooth speakers, extra USB ports, and whimsical hipster decor. The suites have separate living rooms as well.

Were there in-room amenities or little touches that you'd rave about? How was the Wi-Fi—and was it free?

Amenities included free Wi-Fi, free morning coffee or tea in the lobby cafe, Cafe Claudia, and access to books, playing cards, and board games in the Library. In the room, instead of a standard iron and ironing board, there was a small clothing steamer.

Give us the lowdown on the F&B.

Enjoy drinks and dinner from Tiny Lou's, one of Atlanta's Best New restaurants. (Try the Steak Frites and the Bread Service!) If you aren't lucky enough to get a reservation, you are able to order for room service or have your meal in the Library. We ate in the Library and liked the more laid-back, cozy feel.

Cafe Claudia provides handmade pastries and really delicious coffee. Ginormous cinnamon rolls!

The cocktails from the bar are simply delicious.

Any other services or features you'd like to shout out?

Hotel Clermont is pet-friendly and will even supply you with doggie bowls for food and water. They do have rooms big enough for families, however they do not provide rollaways/extra beds or cribs. Valet parking is essential but be careful. You are able to park your car yourself and the spots are very tight.

If you're doing a quick stay or looking for a quick getaway with some character, Hotel Clermont is your spot. It is close to everything in Atlanta, has a very reasonable price, and offers FABULOUS food.
